1 The secret takes quantum THEORY and presents it as fact. Why is that done. Because you can twist a theory into anything you want.
2 Then the THEORY is linked to an otherwise unprovable idea. That idea in the secret is that thre is an intelligent universe that keeps track of your every thought.
3 When push comes to shove you have to have FAITH. Which means that you have to become a believer in order to understand the secret.
The BIGGEST problem is the "Make a Wish" mentality that this kind of stuff promotes.
If you can make a wish then why should you have to do any WORK on your problems. Either you ASKED for the problems or the 'universe' is trying to teach you a lesson.
That is stupid.
Things like "The Secret" and the "Law of Attraction" are just the newest spin on the same new age mentality that has been around for the last 40 years.
The result I see is the most helpless among us grasping at straws hoping for a magic cure. Then they become even more helpless. If something good happens to them......it is the universe and they get no credit for achieving it. OR.....nothing happens and they keep trying. OR......something bad happens and they have drawn that to themselves.
What a stupid way to live.
Here is the TRUTH:
Life is easy if you do 2 simple things.
1 Make a plan
2 Follow the plan
If you plan is to make a wish and keep wishing until it comes true.....it is a stupid plan.
YES...it is very tempting to believe. YES...it taps into everyones desire to be important and connected. YES.....those promoting it might even have the best of intentions.
The real answer is to believe in YOURSELF. You hold the key to your quality of life. NEVER give that away to anyone or ANYTHING.
Yes Jonathan might have drawn himself into a fight. It was not the universe. It might have been that he was drunk. It might have been his actions. It might have been that he looks like a great target for bullies. I guarantee...it was not the universe.
See here, this is the danger. All of the things I mentioned above get ignored by the helpless Secret followers because they have already made up their minds...
